What AI agents need from a shop, what Google’s new Agentic Browsing score checks, and a purchase through ChatGPT, step by step.
New in PageSpeed Insights
PageSpeed Insights has a new score next to Performance and SEO: Agentic Browsing. With WebMCP switched on, Lighthouse runs six checks. Six out of six means AI agents can read your shop, find it and use its tools.
PageSpeed Insights only counts the checks that apply to a page, and its browser doesn’t run WebMCP yet, so a shop with the module usually sees 4/4 there. All six count in Chrome’s own Lighthouse with WebMCP on. For the two theme checks, the module’s audit names every element to fix, or we fix them for you.
The assistant does the searching. Your shop keeps its rules, and the shopper stays in charge.
In plain words, in an AI assistant: what they want, their size, their budget.
It searches your catalogue with your real prices, stock, customer groups and cart rules, through your own search module, so it finds what your search box finds.
Before anything goes into the cart, your page shows the shopper the change with Allow and Deny. This is on by default.
The assistant prepares the checkout. The shopper pays on your payment page with your usual payment modules, and the order arrives like any other.
The assistant never pays, never places the order and never sees payment details.

Your shop’s own MCP server. Buyers add your shop to Claude with one button or a QR code and shop by talking. ChatGPT users can follow once your shop is listed in ChatGPT’s directory.
Orders and revenue from AI assistants per channel, and what agents asked for, including searches that found nothing.
A score per product for the data assistants look for (description, images, GTIN, brand, features), and a short text for AI agents that shoppers never see.
llms.txt, an AI catalog in the format Lighthouse checks, a how-to-shop guide for agents and agents.md, kept up to date by the module.
An audit with a score out of 100 and a fix for each finding, including Lighthouse’s accessibility rules. Try any tool, or let an AI agent shop in a free demo run.
The shopper pays on your page. The assistant never sees payment details and never places the order.
A window on your page shows each change, with Allow and Deny.
Catalogue visibility, customer groups, stock, minimum quantities, cart rules and multistore. No tool takes a customer or cart id from the agent.
Assistants never change addresses or accounts and never see another customer’s data. Returns and cancellations are requests you decide on.
Everything stays in your shop’s database. Nothing goes to PrestaChamps.
Agents that sign their requests, such as ChatGPT agent and Google-Agent, are checked against the keys their company publishes.
It’s a proposed web standard from Google and Microsoft, offered by Chrome and Edge as a trial. Your shop needs a free trial token, and the module warns you 14 days before it ends.
ChatGPT’s desktop app can use a site’s WebMCP tools. Google says Gemini in Chrome will support them soon. Safari and Firefox don’t support WebMCP.
Every Claude plan can add your shop as a custom connector today. ChatGPT users can reach it once your shop is listed in ChatGPT’s directory, which depends on OpenAI’s review.

No. The assistant prepares the checkout and gives the shopper a link to your payment step. The shopper pays there with your usual payment modules, and the order is created like any other.
No. It works with Classic and Hummingbird and needs no override and no other module. If your theme fails one of the two theme checks, the module’s audit shows exactly what to fix.
PageSpeed Insights only counts the checks that apply, and its browser doesn’t run WebMCP yet, so the two WebMCP checks don’t count there. Run Lighthouse in Chrome with WebMCP on and all six count.
Google hasn’t said so. Treat it as a readiness check: it shows whether AI agents can read, find and use your shop.
